Coming Out as Sacrament is an older book, and it was chosen for two reasons: 1) because October is LGBTQ History Month, and this book provides a glimpse into the past, and 2) National Coming Out Day, one of our queer high holy days, occurs in October.
Note: this book contains a lot of out-dated language, and we will struggle and wrestle with it together; however, the spirit of the book is one of genuine inclusivity for the time in which it was written. Together, we can reframe the ideas in this book for an updated understanding.
